Design 384: Information Visualization, Winter '21

In my final project for information visualization, I was asked to take apart a  dataset from a large collection and create an experience around it. First, I chose to work with Tate London's data and then narrowed in on their collection of English artists.  I quickly realized that within that subset, nearly half of those artists were born in London. Slowly my concept developed into a physical installation in two parts titled, Reimagining England at the Tate. The installation would feature a timeline of London-born artists along the floor that denoted each artist's gender and contributions to the collection. The other feature would be a window display to recognize the English artists born outside of London.
